3 Tips for Organizing Your Memories!
Tip 1 Honor them
Display them and enjoy them in your home.
Why hoard all of those precious memories and not share them with those who visit your home? If they are items you don’t wish to display but would rather keep organized and reachable, reach out to the Springer Sisters and they can help you organize and preserve these memories in a way that you can still honor them.
Tip 2 Store them properly
If you are keeping something because it is meaningful, treat it as such. Make sure to store them in proper containers or sleeves that are acid free and made to do the job of protecting these historic memories. Make sure that you DO NOT keep them in places where the temperature or humidity changes drastically such as a garage or attic. These places can cause significant damage to your memories.
If you need help choosing acid free and safe options for storing your memories, please reach out and we can give you our list of recommendations. Here is one recommendation from Amazon we have for you.
Tip 3 Carefully Curate your Collection
Keep only your favorite items. If your goal is to have these passed down to future generations, a small, curated collection will be appreciated. A large collection of items will be overwhelming to others and most likely will not be kept or treasured.
If you feel bad about throwing away items, the best thing to do is to have us (PhotoBerry) digitize it for you so you can downsize your collection but still have the digital files in case you want to see them later!
